The International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of 24 families during the past week from several Yemeni governorates, most of them for reasons related to security concerns linked to the ongoing conflict in the country.

The organization said in its weekly report that its displacement tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 24 families (144 individuals) during the period from September 29 to October 5.

She added that the displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Taiz and Sana'a, and settled in Marib (15 families), Taiz (5 families) and Hodeidah (4 families).

She explained that 54 percent of the displaced (13 families) had concerns related to safety and security as a result of the conflict as the main reason for displacement, while economic motives were behind the displacement of 46 percent (11 families).

She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose during the period from January 1 to October 5, 2024, to 2,819 families (16,914 individuals).
