Judicial authority employees demonstrated in the interim capital, Aden, on Tuesday, rejecting the deduction from their salaries by a decision of the President of the Aden Court of Appeal, Judge Mohammed Al-Junaidi.
During the protest, in front of the Judicial Complex and the Aden Court of Appeal, the protesters raised banners denouncing the decisions of the President of the Aden Court of Appeal, Al-Junaidi, and demanding his departure.
They also chanted slogans demanding their rights, entitlements, and the payment of their salaries without deductions, stressing that their exit was not a conflict with anyone, but rather to demand their legitimate rights.
The protesters in the demonstration called for by the Administrative Employees Syndicate of Aden Courts expressed their strong dissatisfaction and condemnation of the decision of the President of the Aden Court of Appeal to deduct the salaries of employees, considering the strike days during Monday and Wednesday as days of absence.
The demonstrators described Judge Al-Junaidi's decisions as "arbitrary and illegal", considering it a dangerous precedent since the strike is one of the means guaranteed by law and the constitution, stressing the continuation of the partial strike during Mondays and Wednesdays of each week, in exchange for three working days.
Since July 2023, employees of the judiciary in Aden have been carrying out a partial strike on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week, to demand their rights in annual settlements, employee grades, and health insurance.
