The family of one of the kidnapped persons appealed to the local authorities and military formations in Shabwa Governorate (southeast Yemen) to reveal the fate of their son, who has been forcibly disappeared since the beginning of last year.

The family of the missing young man (Munir Abdullah Ubaidil - 23 years old) from the Al-Dhabiyat area in Al-Dhale’ Governorate, said in an appeal seen by “Yemeni Youth Net” that their son was detained on January 7, 2023, at one of the checkpoints at the entrance to the city of Ataq, and his news has been cut off since then.

The family added in its appeal, which it sent to the governorate, the Giants Forces, Shabwa Defense, and the governorate's security director, that they did not know anything about their son except what was reported by one of those released from the "Marra Camp" prison, who reported that he saw him inside the prison.

The family demanded that the fate of their son be revealed and that he be brought before the Public Prosecution if he was proven to have committed an act that violated the law, or that he be released immediately.

Since the Transitional Council forces took control of it two years ago, Shabwa Governorate has witnessed widespread human rights violations and kidnappings of a large number of activists and citizens.
