Taiz Health: More than 9,300 cases of epidemic diseases since the beginning of this year

Health authorities in Taiz Governorate (southwest of Yemen) revealed that more than 9,300 cases of epidemic diseases have been recorded since the beginning of this year.

The Epidemiological Surveillance Department of the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz said in a recent statistic that the number of cases of cholera, dengue and measles epidemics in the governorate reached 9,309 cases, including 45 deaths, during the period from January 1 to September 30.

The cases were distributed between 5,842 cholera cases, including 37 deaths, 2,237 dengue fever cases, without deaths, and 1,230 measles cases, including 8 deaths, according to the statistics.

Taiz Governorate is witnessing a widespread outbreak of fevers and epidemics due to the collapse of the health system and the continued siege imposed on the city by the terrorist Houthi militia for nine years.
