A football player was shot dead by a member of the UAE-backed Transitional Council in Khanfar District, Abyan Governorate (southern Yemen).
Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the football player and former player of Al-Fajr Al-Jadeed Club (Ahmed Al-Yasi - 26 years old) was killed yesterday afternoon, Sunday, by a bullet from the weapon of a member of the Transitional Forces near the Al-Mureidi workshop in the Al-Koud area in Khanfar District.
The sources attributed the incident to a joke between the victim and the perpetrator, who had a friendly relationship.
In recent months and years, incidents of tampering with weapons have caused the death and injury of dozens in various Yemeni governorates, a phenomenon that is increasingly escalating in light of the ongoing war in the country.
