Syria.. Dead and wounded in Israeli bombing of Damascus surroundings

Syrian media reported deaths and injuries in an Israeli bombardment that targeted the Villas area west of the capital, Damascus, at dawn on Tuesday.

According to the official Syrian news agency, SANA, the Syrian air defenses are "intercepting hostile targets" around the capital, Damascus.

The agency said in a breaking news report that "our air defense systems are confronting hostile targets in the vicinity of Damascus," using the same formula it usually uses to talk about Syrian areas being subjected to Israeli raids.

The agency reported hearing explosions around the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Syrian media reported that the Israeli bombing targeted the assassination of several figures in the capital, Damascus, and the Syrian News Agency announced the death of a Syrian TV presenter as a result of the Israeli bombing.

Syrian media reported renewed explosions in Damascus for the third time. Israel has been carrying out air strikes on Damascus and other Syrian cities, saying it is targeting pro-Iranian militias.

On Sunday, an Israeli airstrike targeted a site near a Syrian regime forces checkpoint in the Wadi Hanna area in Al-Qusayr in the Homs countryside in central Syria.

The raid was accompanied by Israeli drones flying overhead and Syrian air defenses attempting to intercept them, without any information about human losses.
