New Houthi separatist move
Our Writers| 19 August, 2024 - 4:00 PM
The Houthi separatist move did not provoke any reaction from the government, civil society organizations, political parties, or Yemeni social and national forces, and it did not turn into public opinion in Yemen, which encourages the Houthis to take more destructive separatist steps to destroy what remains of Yemen, especially its economic activity in light of extreme poverty, famine, disease, epidemics, floods, and the war not officially stopping.
The Houthi move heralds more woes for the Yemeni people, whose middle class has been destroyed and whose wealthy class has emigrated, leaving only millions of toilers who cannot find what will satisfy their hunger. The woes of the forced tearing apart of social structures and family ties may be the most prominent images of these woes, as happened in several countries where separations occurred or where international borders were established in their regions, whether recognized or not.
