Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that people were killed and injured today, Wednesday, in a terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) center in Ankara.
Yerlikaya stressed that the official authorities will provide the public with the latest information about the attack.
Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tanc said the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into the attack.
This came after Turkish media confirmed a large explosion at the headquarters of Tusas Company, followed by gunfire in the area.
Anadolu Agency said security forces, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the area of the explosion and shooting.
The cause of the explosion and the gunfire that followed is not yet clear, while Turkish media reports suggested that the explosion was the result of a suicide attack.
