The Yemeni Football Association issued a decision to appoint a new administrative body for the first national team, which is preparing to enter a training camp to participate in the upcoming Gulf Cup Championship next December.
The decision, signed on October 5, appointed Captain Adnan Taher as manager of the national team, and Mohammed Abdullah Al-Yafei as administrator.
The decision to appoint Captain Taher was widely praised in Yemeni sports circles, as it is considered a step in the right direction on the path of administrative reforms.
Taher was appointed as a successor to Captain Abdulsalam Al-Gharbani, while Al-Yafei was appointed as an administrator by Omar Basahib, about 14 months after their appointment.
Next Friday, the national team will enter an internal camp in Taiz Governorate, in preparation for the 26th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, scheduled to be held in Kuwait from December 21, 2024 to January 3, 2025.
