Government stresses importance of expanding technical and vocational education programs in Socotra Archipelago

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training for the Standards and Quality Sector, Mohammed Kulaib, stressed the importance of expanding technical and vocational education in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate with the aim of keeping pace with the labor market and reducing the unemployment rate among young people.

This came during a workshop held at the Socotra Archipelago Institute, with the aim of expanding and developing the technical and vocational education sector in the archipelago, according to the government news agency Saba.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Socotra Governorate, Raed Al-Jaribi, pointed out the importance of expanding the scientific field at the Socotra Archipelago Technical Institute.

He stressed the local authority's keenness and interest in the technical institute in the governorate to provide the labor market with qualified staff capable of keeping pace with the development witnessed by the island.

The Dean of the Institute, Dr. Yasser Mohammed, reviewed the progress of the educational process and its plan to expand its programs to develop the technical and professional field in Socotra in line with the needs of the labor market.

The workshop recommended the necessity of holding field survey workshops in which the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training participates, to develop and expand the technical and vocational education sector according to the needs of the governorate and its labor market.
