Today, Sunday, a training workshop entitled "Drawing on Glass" was launched in the interim capital, Aden, with the participation of 15 girls, and implemented by the Center for Arts, Culture and Popular Heritage in Aden.
This 10-day workshop is being held under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, and under the supervision of the Ministry’s Women’s Sector.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nadia Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Women’s Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, delivered a speech in which she conveyed the greetings of Minister Naif Al-Bakri, who stressed his constant support for such initiatives aimed at empowering girls and honing their skills in various fields of creativity.
The Undersecretary also praised the efforts made by the Arts, Culture and Popular Heritage Foundation in highlighting the country’s history and enhancing its cultural identity.
This workshop, which was held in the center’s hall in Al-Mualla Directorate, aims to enhance the participants’ skills in this art of drawing, highlight its cultural aesthetics, and also seeks to enhance interest in the visual arts in general.
The workshop included a set of practical and theoretical lectures presented by the trainer Tahera Al-Zubaidi, which addressed methods of drawing on glass and how to use various artistic tools and materials.
This workshop comes one day after the conclusion of a previous workshop implemented by the same center under the title “Drawing on Silk,” which lasted for six days with the participation of 15 girls, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the supervision of the Women’s Sector in the Ministry.
The Center for Arts, Culture and Popular Heritage is a non-governmental organization that includes a group of artists and craftsmen in various artistic and craft fields.
