Map of Yemeni celebrations of the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution 2024 in areas controlled by the rebel Houthi militias

Thousands of Yemenis gathered to celebrate the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution in areas controlled by the Houthis, despite the Houthis mobilizing all their forces to suppress them, ban celebrations , and launch kidnapping, raiding, and assault campaigns, similar to the Zionist occupation in the West Bank.

"Yemeni Youth Net" monitored examples of these celebrations in some governorates, through private sources, or through open sources by following and monitoring the most prominent things that were published and circulated on social media platforms. We summarize them in this report, with the attachment of reinforced links, whenever possible. You can also refer to the explanatory map attached above (just click on the image to enlarge and see the details).

Ibb Governorate

Despite the large number of kidnappings and arrests that the governorate was subjected to prior to the anniversary, this did not prevent its people from insisting on celebrating the eve of the National Day (yesterday evening), as a number of cities, directorates and villages witnessed striking September celebrations, which made the governorate at the forefront of those celebrating the National Day in areas controlled by the militias.

  • In the city of Ibb, residents launched fireworks to celebrate the sixty-second anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, despite the repression, arrests, and kidnappings that affected everyone who carried the national flag or chanted national songs.
  • And inIn the city's Ahwal al-Thalath neighborhood , residents bypassed the Houthi military crowds and launched fireworks to celebrate the occasion.
  • In Jablah District, specifically Al-Waqash area , residents set fires (known as “Christianization”) on the roofs of houses and on the tops of mountains.
  • Al-Sharaei village in the same directorate also celebrated, defying the Houthi ban previously imposed on the anniversary of the republic.
  • In Ba'dan District, Al-Dais district witnessed a huge celebration of the revolution anniversary, despite the Houthi security deployment. The village of Beit Al-Aroumi in the district also defied the Houthi militia, and the residents organized their own celebrations for the anniversary.
  • The village of Mayfa-Baadan did the same, and its people celebrated by lighting the fires of the revolution on the tops of the vineyard to the sound of national September songs and chants.
  • And inAl-Nadirah District: The people gathered in large numbers to light fires, surrounded by patriotic songs, throwing the Houthi threats to the wall.
Occupied Taiz Directorates

A number of Taiz directorates, which are under the control of the Houthi militia, also witnessed large national celebrations, defying the warnings and the intense security deployment of the militias, coming in second place after its neighbor (Ibb).

 Sana'a

In both Sana'a and the capital, dozens of residents celebrated in the streets that witnessed an unprecedented security deployment, including tanks, armored vehicles and crews, in various streets and at the entrances to large neighborhoods, which made many citizens content themselves with celebrating from their homes and publishing it on social media.

  • Among them is Dr. Ziad Abdul-Mughni , who lit the torch of revolution on the roof of his house, despite the Houthi threats and intimidation.
  • In the regionIn Sarf Bani Hashish, which the Houthi rebel gang treats as a human warehouse, the residents celebrated the revolution anniversary with their children and chanted patriotic songs.
  • Also from Sana'a, the young and well-known Yemeni artist Maria Qahtan celebrated from inside her home in her own special way, by singing national anthems on the occasion of the revolution anniversary, and published them on social media.

This comes at a time when the Houthi militia tried to calm and absorb the popular anger in the Yemeni capital, through a symbolic celebration and lighting the flame of the revolution in the heart of Tahrir Square , after years of preventing and banning such celebratory activity. However, the militia was unable to see an elderly Yemeni man carrying the flag of the Republic among the masses, who set the most wonderful national examples of sacrifice and steadfastness in the face of the clubs of the militia elements who beat him after he prevented them from trying to remove and desecrate his flag.

 Ad Dali
Dhamar
  • In Dhamar Governorate, the Al-Hada tribes, known for their firm republican stances against the Houthis and the Imamate, celebrated, ignoring the threats of the Houthi rebels. The youth of the tribe ignited the torch of revolution in the Al-Absiyah area , firing tracer bullets into the air, in a clear challenge to the terrorist Houthi militia without fear of them. They also ignited the torch of revolution at the top of Mount Ahdar, Al-Abu Atif village, ignoring the Houthi militia and its threats.
Hodeidah

In Al Hudaydah Governorate, to the west, dozens of families did not miss this national occasion and celebrated with their members the anniversary of September 26 by singing national songs.Inside their homes, without caring about the Houthi militia deploying its military, security and thuggish force in the streets and neighborhoods to terrorize the population.

White

In Al Bayda, residents of the village of Malah in Al Arsh District , one of the four districts of Rada’a, celebrated, known for its armed resistance to the Houthis and demonstrations, despite their ongoing campaigns against the city. A number of residents lit a torch on the roofs of their homes. Others preferred to celebrate near the historic Rada’a Castle , by setting off fireworks, without paying attention to the Houthi crowds mobilized in the city.

Rima

In Rima Governorate, the people celebratedAl-Salafiyah District is known for its opposition to the Houthis and the involvement of most of its people in resisting the Houthis early on the anniversary of the revolution. The people used motorcycles and cars in their celebrations.

It should be noted that the above monitoring was not complete, but rather consisted of models that were reached through our sources and through a quick search in open sources on social media platforms, and we did not have time to access more of them, despite their abundance. We also note that some of the links attached above may be deleted as a result of pressures exerted by the militias who wrote them.
