A recent UN report revealed that 2,692 African migrants arrived in Yemen during the month of September.
The International Organization for Migration said in its monthly report that its tracking matrix recorded the entry of 2,692 migrants into Yemen last September, an increase of 65% over the total number reported in the previous month, in which 1,631 migrants entered.
The report indicated that 75% of the total migrants arriving in Yemen are Ethiopians, numbering 2,013 people, while the rest (679 migrants) are Somalis.
Men represented 63% of the total number of immigrants, compared to 25% of women and 12% of children.
According to UN statistics, the total number of African migrants to Yemen during the first nine months of this year rose to 16,063 migrants.
