The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has returned 142 Somali refugees in Yemen by sea to the port of Berbera, as part of the voluntary return programme.
The commission said in a statement on the X platform that 142 Somali refugees, including 31 from Sana'a, arrived at the Somali port of Berbera through the voluntary return programme supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
“UNHCR and its partners are working to ensure that refugees are selected for return home and assisted with medical clearance, documentation and a reintegration package in Somalia,” she added.
This is the third flight organized by the Commission in about a month, as it previously organized two flights, the first of which included 153 refugees and the second of which included 99 people, as part of 11 flights that it is expected to operate during the remaining months of this year.
