Today, Monday, the US Treasury included the Yemeni parliamentarian and businessman Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar and 9 of his companies on the sanctions list on the pretext of his support for the Hamas movement.

According to media sources, the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control has placed Sheikh Al-Ahmar and 9 of his companies in Yemen, Turkey and the Czech Republic on the sanctions list due to his support for Hamas in Palestine.

The US Treasury accused Sheikh Al-Ahmar of playing crucial roles in raising foreign donations for Hamas.

According to the Treasury statement, the names of the companies included in the sanctions list are:

  • Al Ahmar Trading Group, based in Yemen.
  • Al Ahmar Oil Supply and Distribution, based in Yemen.
  • Sama International Media, based in Yemen.
  • Al Salam Trading and General Agencies Establishment, headquartered in Yemen.
  • Saba Trading & Investment SRO, based in Czech Republic.
  • SabaFon International S.A.L. (Offshore), headquartered in Lebanon.
  • Live Energy Yatrimlari Anonim Sirketi, based in Türkiye.
  • Investrade Portfoy Unitime Anonymous Circuit, based in Türkiye.
  • Saba Turk Company is based in Türkiye.

This announcement came in conjunction with the first anniversary of the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, which was carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades, affiliated with Hamas, against the Zionist occupation forces.

Observers considered this American announcement as revealing the collusion between the Americans and the Houthis, as his companies were targeted domestically by the Houthis, and abroad were subject to sanctions by the US Treasury.
