Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, condemned the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia forcing employees of the state's administrative apparatus in areas under its control to attend "military" training courses, in an attempt to humiliate and subjugate Yemenis to satisfy its deep-seated hatred for everything Yemeni.
Moammar Al-Eryani explained in a statement published by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Houthi militia, which has continued for ten years to loot the salaries of state employees in the areas under its control, leaving them and their families prisoners of hunger, poverty, disease, homelessness and other types of suffering, is forcing them to join military courses, without regard for the elderly, administrative leaders, and scientific and professional competencies in various fields.
Al-Eryani pointed out that the Houthi militia is pressuring employees and bargaining with them between keeping their job grades or being dismissed from public office, to force them to attend military and cultural courses, sign the code of conduct, participate in its sectarian activities and rituals, and listen to lectures by the so-called Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi.
Al-Eryani stressed that these criminal practices are not just an exploitation of public office and a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, but rather fall within the Houthi militia's systematic efforts to undermine state institutions and turn civilian employees into fuel for its absurd battles and implement Iranian dictates.
Al-Eryani called on the international community to quickly classify the Houthi militia as a "global terrorist organization", impose sanctions on it by freezing its assets, banning the travel of its leaders, enhancing legal coordination between countries to pursue its members, and individuals and organizations that provide financial or logistical support to it, enhancing international cooperation in exchanging intelligence information and combating financing and recruitment, and activating international resolutions on preventing the sale or supply of weapons and dual-use materials.
