The National Alliance of Political Parties and Forces in Ma'rib Governorate announced, on Wednesday, its absolute rejection of the arbitrary decision issued by the US Treasury Department last Monday to impose sanctions against businessman Sheikh Hamid al-Ahmar, a member of the Supreme Council of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, a member of the House of Representatives, and head of the Al-Quds Foundation, on the pretext of his financing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas.

The coalition of parties confirmed in a statement its rejection of the US Treasury’s decision that targeted one of the prominent political and popular leaders, since the decision was based on the claim of supporting the resistance movement Hamas, which Yemenis of all orientations consider a liberation movement that resists the brutal occupation, and that its classification as a terrorist organization comes in the context of the US administration’s complete bias towards the Israeli entity, as a strategic policy that embodied the principle of double standards in its highest forms.

He pointed out that the Houthi militia had previously looted Sheikh Al-Ahmar's properties in Sana'a following the coup of September 21, 2014, and the US Treasury followed suit today by including a number of his companies under sanctions, considering what is happening to be a clear collusion between the militia and the Treasury, and that it raises a big question mark.

The parties of Ma'rib Governorate affirmed their full solidarity with the national figure Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Ahmar, a member of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, calling on the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, political parties and organizations, all popular activities and human rights organizations, to express their rejection of this condemned decision.

The Ma'rib parties demanded that the US Treasury Department cancel the illegal decision that targeted a national figure with a long record in political and struggle history locally and regionally, renewing their full support for the steadfast Palestinian people and their just cause.

The Ma'rib parties also called on the masses of the Yemeni people, all Arab and Islamic peoples, and the free people of the world to rally around the Palestinian resistance and provide all kinds of support and assistance until the Israeli occupation is defeated and the independent Palestinian state is established with Jerusalem as its capital, warning against any bowing before the terrorism of international blackmail aimed at forcing supporters of the Palestinian cause to abandon it in one way or another.

Statement text:

It is worth noting that the Houthi militia had previously looted his property in Sana’a following the coup of September 21, 2014, and the US Treasury followed suit today by including a number of his companies under sanctions in a clear collaboration between the militia and the Treasury, which raises a major question mark.

We warn against any bowing before the terrorism of international blackmail aimed at forcing supporters of the Palestinian cause to abandon it in one way or another.
