A court affiliated with the terrorist Houthi militia issued a ruling to increase the prison sentence for journalist (Nabil Al-Sadawi), who has been missing in its prisons since September 2015.

The American Center for Justice ( ACJ ) said today, Tuesday, in a brief statement on its Facebook page, "The Specialized Criminal Court of Appeal in Sana'a, which is under the control of the Houthi group, issued its ruling the day before yesterday, increasing the prison sentence for journalist "Nabil Al-Sadawi" to 9 years instead of 8 years."

The center called on the Houthi group to stop using the judiciary as a means to pursue its political opponents and tighten penalties, demanding the release of all detainees and an end to illegal trials and violations of the basic rights of political detainees.

It is noteworthy that the previous sentence (8 years) issued by the Houthi Criminal Court against journalist Al-Sadawi had ended on September 22nd, but the militia has continued to kidnap him since then without giving any reasons.

The Houthi militia kidnapped journalist Nabil Mohammed Mohammed Al-Sadawi on September 21, 2015, and accused him of committing several serious crimes, including working for Saudi Arabia. They also forced him to confess to fabricated charges written by security personnel from the group, according to Amnesty International.

According to the organization, during the years he spent in Houthi prisons, Al-Sadawi was subjected to many human rights violations, including (enforced disappearance, torture and other forms of ill-treatment, and being prevented from communicating with a lawyer).
