On Wednesday evening, the city of Taiz witnessed the lighting of the torch of the 62nd anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution, with a large public presence.
Thousands of citizens from different parts of the city gathered at Jamal Street, where the anniversary of the revolution that overthrew the priestly Imamate rule was celebrated in 1962.
Fireworks were also launched, decorating the city's sky, from the Cairo Citadel and from the city's heights, which witnessed wide popular celebrations.
Popular celebrations are still ongoing in various streets of Taiz city, and are expected to continue until late at night.
