Socotra Reform Party commemorates the 34th anniversary of the party’s founding and affirms the continuation of its struggle and national role

The Executive Office of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, held a speech and artistic festival this evening, Tuesday, in the city of Hadibu, the governorate’s center, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the party’s founding.

The Undersecretary of the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, Dr. Issa Muslim, congratulated the leaders and members of the Islah Party on this occasion, indicating that Islah is the sun that never sets on the Yemeni, and wherever a person finds the solution of Islah, which is present in every village, valley and city.

Deputy Muslim said: “We are experiencing the tenth year of war against the malicious Iranian plant that has turned against the state and wants to return us to the square of the cave and the priesthood, forgetting that the Yemenis struggled in September against the trinity of poverty, ignorance and disease, and as long as there is a voice that speaks the truth and a hand that resists and fights this plant, this will not happen.”

He pointed out that the people of Socotra suffered from dependency for years and struggled until the archipelago was declared a governorate, considering this an achievement for the alignment and struggle of the Socotris.

He explained that the duty of struggle today is to ensure that the governorate obtains its right to the full budget and its dues in terms of jobs in the civil and military service, similar to the rest of the governorates, and to include it in development plans due to its geographical distinction, cultural heritage and unique biodiversity.

Muslim called on all components of the people of Socotra, including the authorities, parties, sheikhs, women’s sector, youth and students, to stand together and put the interests of the Socotra Archipelago above all other interests.

In the Islah speech, the Assistant Secretary of the Islah Executive Office in the province, Ahmed Salem Hamoudi, congratulated all members of the Yemeni Islah Congregation on this occasion, stressing that the party has made sacrifices from its best leaders and youth, whether martyred, wounded or exiled, in order to consolidate the foundations and gains of the September 26 and October 14 revolutions.

He pointed out that the anniversary of the founding of the Islah Party comes to inspire a spirit of hope and optimism for diligent work, continuous dedication, and solidarity with the masses, and to activate cultural, political, awareness-raising, and social work to protect society from the danger of the racist Houthi ideology and the Iranian project.

Hamoudi stressed that the reform is working to expand the circle of partnership, work with good people, and align with all national forces to eliminate these distorted ideas and extremist opinions, and seeks to instill the values of freedom and the approach of moderation and balance as a method and behavior in people’s reality.

Hamoudi called for standing with the state, aligning with its institutions, and protecting the gains of the September and October revolutions.

Wafaa Salem, a member of the Women’s Department at the Islah Party in Socotra, delivered a speech on behalf of women, in which she emphasized the role of the Islah Party in society, noting that the Islah Party, with its human capabilities and large presence, is a source of enrichment for the democratic experience and a safety valve for society from all the deviant ideas that are trying to gnaw at the body of the Yemeni people.

Salem called on the local authority to play its role and work with all political components, and make the citizen and providing services to him the focus of its attention, instead of being preoccupied with secondary matters far from the needs and requirements of the citizens.
