The Ministry of Human Rights condemned, on Thursday, the ongoing attacks and violations committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias against civilians in Al Bayda Governorate, the latest of which were the attacks that took place yesterday, Wednesday, which resulted in the death of one citizen and the injury of another.
The ministry said in a statement published on its website, "Armed elements affiliated with the terrorist Houthi militia opened fire on the citizen Saif Mardas Al-Sarari and the citizen Muqbil Nasser Al-Sarari from the residents of the village of Hamat Sarar in the district of Walad Rabi' Qifa while they were passing on a motorcycle at a checkpoint belonging to the militia, which led to the death of the first and the serious injury of the other."
The statement pointed out that the Houthi militia sent military reinforcements to the area consisting of 6 armed military crews and surrounded the area and the residents, indicating that the situation is still tense until this moment.
According to information from the Ministry's monitoring teams, there are more civilian casualties as a result of these ongoing attacks.
The ministry said, "The serious violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militias against civilians always confirm that they do not care about any peace process and do not abide by any agreements, and that they continue to commit crimes of killing and torturing civilians."
The High Commissioner for Human Rights and all international mechanisms were called upon to condemn these violations and crimes, to prosecute their perpetrators and those responsible for them, to ensure the provision of protection to civilians in areas under the control of the militia, and to consider the violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia against civilians as part of actions that obstruct peace efforts, which requires subjecting its leadership to international trials and sanctions.
