Taiz Health: 10.5 thousand cases of epidemic diseases since the beginning of this year

Health authorities in Taiz Governorate (southwest of Yemen) revealed that more than 10,500 cases of three epidemic diseases have been recorded since the beginning of this year.

The Department of Media and Health Education at the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz said in a recent statistic that the number of cases of cholera, dengue and measles epidemics in the governorate reached 10,510 cases, including 51 deaths, during the period from January 1 to October 23.

The cases were distributed between 6,682 cholera cases, including 43 deaths, 2,542 dengue fever cases, without deaths, and 1,286 measles cases, including 8 deaths, according to the statistics.

Taiz Governorate is witnessing a widespread outbreak of fevers and epidemics due to the collapse of the health system and the continued siege imposed on the city by the terrorist Houthi militia for nine years.
