Taiz.. Traffic stopped on an alternative road due to a truck breakdown

Traffic has stopped on the alternative road between Taiz and Lahj, Al-Suha - Karbah, a day after three accidents occurred, killing 16 people and injuring others, in light of the Houthi siege on the city of Taiz for years and its refusal to open the main roads.

Local residents told Yemen Youth Net that traffic had stopped on the alternative road to Karba Al-Saha, south of Taiz, since Monday morning, as a result of a heavy truck breaking down at one of the narrow turns.

The residents added that the truck breakdown caused the road to be completely closed and traffic stopped, noting that the travelers are still stuck on the road, and a school near the road was opened for them to spend the night in.

On Sunday, 16 citizens died and others were injured in three traffic accidents on the alternative Al-Sahi-Karba road used by travelers to travel between Taiz and Aden due to the ongoing Houthi siege on the city of Taiz.

Last month, the American Center for Justice issued a report entitled “The Siege of Taiz: A Humanitarian Tragedy,” which documented (541) traffic accidents that led to the death of (434) people and the injury of (1026) others, while material losses exceeded the two million dollar barrier, the consequences of the siege imposed by the Houthi group on Taiz, according to the report.
