183 people were killed by rain and floods that hit four Yemeni governorates in the west and center of the country last August.
The Houthi militia authorities said in separate statements published by its affiliated Saba news agency that heavy rains, floods, rock collapses and thunderstorms in the governorates of Hodeidah (west), Al Mahwit and Hajjah (northwest) and Dhamar (central) killed at least 183 people.
The militia authorities' data reported the death of 84 people in Hodeidah, 39 in Hajjah, 33 in Mahwit, and 27 in Dhamar.
Regarding injuries, statistics indicated that 40 injuries were recorded in Hajjah, 25 in Hodeidah, and 8 injuries in Dhamar, without mentioning a specific number of injuries in Al Mahwit.
The data indicated that dozens of homes, properties and infrastructure were damaged in those governorates.
Since late July and early August, rainfall rates have increased throughout the country, causing heavy human losses, damaging thousands of homes and shelters for displaced people, and causing severe damage to infrastructure and road networks.
