Exclusive: Yemen Youth Net - Follow-ups
The Houthi militia kidnapped a family of 5 people from Hajur in Kushar District in Hajjah Governorate (northwest of Yemen), while they were intending to travel to attend the wedding of their son who lives in Marib City, east of the country.
The member of the National Investigation Committee, Ishraq Al-Maqtari, said, quoting eyewitnesses, that military crews affiliated with the Houthi militia in the “Al-Absiyah” area surrounded the citizen “Yahya Ali Hussein Al-Saeedi” and his family consisting of his wife, his daughter Jawhara, and her two children Hanadi and Ahoud, from the sons of Hajour in Hajjah, while they were traveling to attend their son’s wedding in Marib.
She added that the militia elements detained the family on the (Al-Absiyah-Houth-Amran) road, took them to their security center in the Al-Absiyah area, subjected them to investigation, and are still detaining them illegally, on the charge that their son supports legitimacy and the coalition.
Al-Maqtari quoted the people of Hajur as saying that the remaining residents, especially women in the area - which was occupied by the militia in early 2019 - are subjected to constant Houthi abuses and are subject to surveillance and persecution, not to mention being deprived of any humanitarian assistance and relief, after their homes were bombed and the men in those areas were displaced or arrested.
