Forces affiliated with the UAE-backed Transitional Council stormed Socotra Airport on Sunday, in an attempt to prevent the Sheikh of Sheikhs of Socotra, Sheikh "Issa bin Yaqout," from traveling.

A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the Chief of Staff of the First Marine Infantry Brigade, Mohsen Hamoud Al-Jahhafi Al-Dhali, and the leadership of the Security Belt, stormed the VIP lounge at Socotra Airport, and tried to prevent Sheikh Bin Yaqout from traveling.

The source, who preferred not to be named, added, "Ibn Yaqout refused to leave the hall except with a warrant from the Public Prosecution," noting that "Ibn Yaqout left for Mukalla after citizens and travelers intervened to break up the fight between them."

At the beginning of this month, the Security Belt Forces intercepted the Sheikh of Sheikhs of Socotra, Issa bin Yaqout, in front of the airport gate and prevented him from traveling, under the direction of the governor of the province, who is loyal to the Transitional Council, Raafat Al-Thaqali.

Last June, the governor of Socotra Archipelago, Raafat Al-Thaqali, issued a decision to cancel the title of Sheikh of Sheikhs of Socotra, and he was accused of collaborating with the Houthi militia.
