Houthi militia seizes by force a Salafi center in Ibb countryside

On Monday, the Houthi militia stormed a center affiliated with the Salafi movement in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen) and seized it by force.

Local sources said that the Houthi militia stormed the Imam Al-Shafi’i Center for Teaching the Holy Quran and Sunnah, which is run by one of the sheikhs of the Salafi movement in the “Mater” area in the Ibb countryside directorate, northwest of the governorate center.

The sources explained that the Houthi militia seized the center and its housing, expelled dozens of students from it, and placed it under its administration.

During the last months and years, the Houthi militia has intensified its attacks on the Salafi movement in Ibb Governorate, and continues to strip them of their institutions, businesses, centers, and mosques, after a long truce that prevailed between the two sides.
