The Preparatory Committee for the Ashal Millions confirms that the demonstration will be held on its scheduled date in Aden.

The preparatory committee for the march of the kidnapped Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal confirmed that the event would be held as scheduled on Saturday evening at the parade square in the Khor Maksar district, east of the interim capital, Aden, coinciding with the transitional council forces being on alert to prevent the demonstration from being held.

Muqbil Ali Musaad Al-Jaadani, spokesman for the Preparatory Committee for the Ashal Millionaire, told Yemen Shabab.net: “The millionaire will be held if we are all killed... Our response is clear,” without mentioning any other details.

The preparatory committee and the tribes of Abyan had called for millions to gather at the parade square in Aden on Saturday evening, in solidarity with Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani and to demand that his fate be revealed, who has been kidnapped since last June.

Earlier on Friday, the Southern Transitional Council directed its forces to be on alert in Aden and the Abyan and Lahj governorates, and prevented any elements it described as “suspicious” claiming to demonstrate from entering Aden.

On Friday evening, the transitional forces deployed additional security units at security points, main roads, and entrances to the city of Aden, to prevent demonstrators from coming to Aden.

The security committee in Aden had previously warned, “against attempts to create marches that may be used to spread chaos, especially at this dangerous stage, during which other parties, according to confirmed information, aim to create problems,” in addition to attacking “the people of the South” against each other and consolidating the policy of chaos in the temporary capital, Aden. And all parts of the country, according to a statement.
