Family discord...a citizen was killed by his son in one of the towns of Shabwa

A young man killed his father, in a new incident of domestic violence in Shabwa Governorate (south-eastern Yemen), days after a similar crime witnessed in the governorate, which is under the control of the Transitional Council forces.

Local sources said that the citizen (Abdullah Nasser bin Muharren Al-Ateeqi) was killed on Tuesday, in the “Yashbum” area in the Upper Egypt District, south of Shabwa.

The sources added that the incident occurred against the backdrop of family disputes that broke out between the father and his son.

The incident comes days after a young man killed his uncle (his father's brother) and injured his wife and their son in the same district.

In recent months and years, family-related murders and revenge cases have escalated in the governorate, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Transitional Council forces.
