Special sources revealed to Yemen Youth Channel that Saudi Arabia is making efforts to make changes to the board of directors of the Central Bank of Yemen, in light of the continued decline of the Yemeni currency to historic and unprecedented levels against foreign currencies.

Sources told the "From the Other Side" program, presented by colleague Abdullah Dubla on the "Yemeni Youth" channel, that Hussam Al-Sharjabi may be one of the names nominated to succeed Ahmed Al-Ma'baqi, who had submitted his resignation to the government and it was rejected following the retraction of the decisions he had issued regarding moving the headquarters of the main banks to Aden.

According to the program, "Hussam Al-Sharjabi" may be the agreed-upon choice between Al-Alimi and Saudi Arabia, and Saudi support for the Central Bank and the currency may be conditional on making changes to the Central Bank's management.

The program indicated that Al-Ma'baqi is still outside the country to this day, stressing that the government has become stripped of all the weapons it used to maneuver with previously, especially in light of the ongoing dialogue between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia in Muscat regarding the economic track.
