The Houthi militia has once again stormed the wholesale vegetable market, owned by the Shaab Ibb Sports Club, in the city of Ibb (central Yemen).

The club's media official, Ahmed Kharsan, said in a post on Facebook that Houthi crews had once again stormed the wholesale vegetable market and kidnapped a number of vendors in the market.

The storming operation was an extension of a series of Houthi attacks against the club's vegetable market, which the militia has been carrying out for about two weeks, as part of its efforts to empty the market in favor of a Houthi investor coming from Amran who failed to manage a competing market.

During the past few days, the Houthi militia stormed the wholesale market in Dhaher and closed it to vendors, and kidnapped a number of merchants and demonstrators protesting against the Houthi measures.

According to sports sources, the militia is seeking to empty the market as a prelude to seizing its land, which is located in the heart of Ibb city, where lands and public property are being subjected to systematic looting by Houthi militia elements and leaders from inside and outside the governorate.
