UNMHA: 9 civilians were killed and injured as a result of mine accidents in Hodeidah last June

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) announced on Tuesday that 9 civilians were killed and injured as a result of mine and explosive incidents in Hodeidah last June.

The mission said in a statement that it recorded 6 incidents related to explosive materials in different districts of Hodeidah Governorate during last June.

She added that these incidents resulted in the deaths of four people (including a child and a woman) and the injury of five others (including 3 children).

She noted that these incidents underscore the "devastating impact on the most vulnerable members of society."

According to the statement, these incidents occurred in the districts of (Al-Durayhimi, Al-Hali, Al-Tuhayta, Bayt Al-Faqih, and Hays), with two incidents in the first and one incident in each of the other districts.

With this toll, the total number of victims rose to 24 dead and 28 wounded during the first half of this year, according to the UN mission’s statistics.
