Yemeni-British talks on the repercussions of Houthi attacks on international navigation

On Monday, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak discussed with the Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa at the British Foreign Office, Hamish Falconer, the ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia on commercial ships in the Red Sea and their repercussions on international navigation.

This came during a phone call between them today, during which they discussed the joint relations between Yemen and Britain and ways to enhance British support for the Yemeni government in various fields, according to the official Saba Agency.

Saba News Agency reported that the Prime Minister discussed with the British Minister in this call the latest developments at the national, regional and international levels and the two countries' positions towards them, including the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, and its dangerous repercussions that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world.

Bin Mubarak expressed his aspiration for more British support for the Yemeni government and people in these exceptional circumstances, in line with the increasing volume of humanitarian and service obligations and contributing to alleviating the suffering of the Yemenis.

He praised the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the steadfast British position alongside the Yemeni people, and achieving their aspirations to complete the restoration of state institutions, security, stability and development.

For his part, Minister Hamish Falconer reiterated his country's government's support for the Yemeni government and its efforts to implement reforms and alleviate human suffering, stressing the British government's keenness to support efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Yemen.
