Joint meeting in Aden discusses electricity sector preparations for next summer

A joint meeting attended by the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Eng. Maneh Bin Yamin, and the Minister of State and Governor of Aden Governorate, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, discussed improving the electricity service and the electricity sector’s preparations for the coming summer.

According to Saba News Agency, the meeting reviewed the government's paths and directions for developing and reforming the electricity system, ways to regulate diesel fuel, in addition to the importance of the continuity and sustainability of crude oil to operate the President's PetroMasila station, to maintain generating capacity, and the proposed plans and mechanisms to improve service during the current stage in preparation for next summer.

The meeting discussed the efforts made by the local authority in the interim capital, Aden, and the government to support the Ministry of Electricity’s efforts to enhance the service.

This comes at a time when the interim capital, Aden, is witnessing a major deficit in generating electricity, as a result of the generation deficit on the one hand, and the fuel shortage on the other.
