Educational sources in the capital, Sana'a, said that the Houthi militia imposed a two-week "sectarian" cultural course for employees of private schools, including employees of Al-Nahda Private Schools.
The sources explained that the cultural course imposed by the Houthis on the employees of the schools targeted by the militia lasted for 15 days, according to what was reported by the Capital Center for Human Rights.
The sources indicated that the purpose of the course was more to teach employees how to use peace, which they were trained on most days of the course.
She said that most of those who participated in the course did so unwillingly, and that the fear of Houthi revenge was what prompted them to participate.
She stated that the supervisors forced the participant in that course to sign a pledge to attend when requested, and that an amount of ten thousand riyals was paid to each participant.
The Houthi militia continues to exert pressure on teachers in various schools in the capital, Sana'a, and areas under its control, to force them to listen to lectures given by the group's leader on a weekly basis.
The sources said that the Houthi militia informed school principals of the necessity of suspending the educational process on Wednesdays of every week and limiting the school hours to half of the classes to force teachers to listen to sectarian lectures and programs.
It is noteworthy that the majority of teachers in schools and employees in government institutions evade these sectarian lectures, but the militia resorts to several means to force them to attend, while practicing various threats, which reach the threat of murder and kidnapping, according to the center.
