Owners and investors of commercial electrical stations in Houthi areas threatened to stop providing electricity service after three days. Condemning arbitrary practices by Houthi leaders in the leadership of the Houthi Ministry of Electricity in Sanaa.

The Electric Power Generation and Distribution Sector of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Secretariat and the Association of Private Electricity Generation Plants warned in a statement of a complete interruption of the service to supply citizens with electricity after investors in this sector began to face arbitrary and illegal transactions by the Houthi leader, “Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti,” who was previously appointed. Houthis Minister of Electricity.

The statement pointed to the complex and multiple problems that “the conditions of private electrical stations are experiencing, which are unenviable due to the continuous abuses, measures and great harassment” issued by the Houthi leader “Al-Bukhaiti” against the private electrical stations.

The statement explained that these irresponsible actions of the leader, Al-Bukhaiti, made the stations risk their capital, while Al-Bukhaiti closed some stations in addition to another series of previous systematic abuses, and refused to open communication windows to settle disputes amicably in a way that guarantees the rights of investors and ensures continuity of service.

The statement confirmed that Al-Bukhaiti rejected all directives to stop these abusive practices against private power stations after submitting many complaints and grievances to the concerned authorities.

The owners of the commercial stations pointed out that Al-Bukhaiti insists on creating an environment that is repulsive to investment and breaking up partnerships and cooperation between the public and private sectors, especially in light of the current circumstance and the exceptional circumstances the country is going through. With these measures, he places obstacles in front of the private sector, which seeks to provide a higher quality service at a price. Less, as the statement says.
