Shabwa - Yemen Shabab Net
Yemeni Coast Guard forces arrested about 150 African migrants who arrived illegally on the coast of Shabwa (southeast of Yemen).
The security media of the Ministry of Interior said that a Coast Guard force in Shabwa Governorate arrested approximately 150 migrants from the Horn of Africa, on the coast of Bir Ali in Radum District.
He added that the immigrants entered our country illegally via a boat belonging to smugglers, who dropped them off on the coast of Bir Ali.
The statement indicated that the migrants were gathered in a refugee camp in the governorate in the presence of delegates from the Coast Guard and the Refugee Affairs Organization.
As the security campaign continues in Lahj Governorate, which has been ongoing for months against smuggling and human trafficking gangs, the coast of Shabwa has become the only port through which hundreds of African migrants flow every month to Yemen and from there to Saudi Arabia to escape conflicts and search for better economic opportunities.
