Despite the militia's threats and repression, Yemenis celebrate the September Revolution by lighting its 62nd torch and launching fireworks

Yemenis in areas controlled by the Houthi militia celebrated by lighting the torch of the revolution and launching fireworks, despite the militia’s persecution and widespread kidnappings of celebrants.

Local sources said that the people of the city of Malah, the center of the Al-Arsh District in Rada’a, Al-Bayda Governorate (central Yemen), celebrated the anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution, where they lit the torch in more than one place and launched fireworks from their homes.

Citizens in other districts and towns affiliated with Rada'a in Al Bayda Governorate also celebrated on a large scale, according to the sources.

In Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), the people of Ibb Governorate launched fireworks in celebration of the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution. Many of them also lit the 62nd torch of the glorious revolution, in a popular celebration of the occasion despite the suppression of the Houthi militias.

Activists on social media circulated stories of citizens launching fireworks from the roofs of their homes in a number of neighborhoods in Ibb city, and celebrating the occasion to the tunes of national songs.

In the governorate’s directorates, young men lit the torch of the revolution from the mountains and highlands in the directorates of (Jablah, As-Saddah, An-Nadrah, Ba’dan, As-Sabrah, Al-Udayn, Far’ Al-Udayn, Madhikharah, Hazm Al-Udayn, As-Siyani, Al-Qafr, Yarim, and Ar-Radmah), and they also launched fireworks in celebration of the occasion.

As a result, the Houthi militia launched widespread kidnappings that targeted dozens of the governorate’s residents, most of them in Ba’dan, Al-Nadrah, and Al-Saddah.

In the Sharab Ar Rawnah district of Taiz Governorate, citizens reported that the people of Jabal Hadiyah defied the Houthi measures and lit the flame of revolution.

Other governorates under Houthi control witnessed popular celebrations of the occasion, despite the persecutions and kidnappings carried out by the Houthi militia against the celebrants.
