Discussions between the Food Organization and the Aviation Authority
Today, in the interim capital, Aden, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Captain Saleh bin Nahid, discussed with representatives of the World Food Organization (WFP), headed by the Livelihoods and Risk Reduction Officer, Shahida Akhtar, and her assistant, Abdul Hafeez Al-Amri, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides.
The UN official reviewed the organization's efforts and participation in preventing natural disasters caused by rain and floods, especially in the eastern regions of Yemen in the governorates of Al Mahrah, Hadhramaut and Marib, and the effects of these disasters on the displaced in particular, as well as working to reduce risks and provide safe livelihoods.
She also indicated that joint meetings will be arranged between the organization, the authority and relevant parties during the coming months, to enhance joint efforts to reduce disasters and give importance to early warning in predicting disasters before they occur, and how this information reaches those affected before they occur to preserve their safety.
