Yemeni Interior Ministry says it issued more than 44,000 passports in two weeks

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior said that its Immigration, Passports and Nationality Authority issued 44,315 passports during the first half of October in all branches of the Authority in the liberated governorates and foreign missions.

According to a report published by the Ministry of Interior on its website, the issued passports were distributed according to the source of issuance as follows: 11,783 passports were issued through foreign missions, and 10,400 passports were issued through the branch of the Authority in Aden.

She added that 7,446 passports were issued through the Authority at its main headquarters in the interim capital, Aden, 5,004 passports from the Authority’s branch in Ma’rib Governorate, and 4,397 passports from the Authority’s branch in Taiz Governorate.

The Hadhramaut Coast Immigration, Passports and Nationality Authority branch issued 2076 passports, Shabwa Governorate issued 1868 passports, 681 passports were issued through the Al Mahrah Governorate Passports Authority, and 558 passports were issued through the Authority branch in Seiyun.

The rest of the passports issued during the same period were distributed between the two branches of the Authority in Al-Khokha, with 45 passports, and Socotra, with 57 passports.

This comes at a time when the ministry said that our country's land, air and sea ports registered 63,048 citizens, 5,121 Arabs and 2,979 foreigners during the first half of October.

She pointed out that 6,573 passengers arrived via Aden International Airport, 1,931 passengers arrived via Sayoun International Airport, 52,603 passengers arrived via Al-Wadiah Port, 6,831 passengers arrived via Shahn Port, 3,172 passengers arrived via Sarfait Port, and 38 passengers arrived via Mukalla Port.

The same ports recorded the departure of 84,517 citizens, 5,401 Arabs, and 3,053 foreigners, while 8,548 passengers departed via Aden International Airport, and 1,507 passengers departed via Sayoun International Airport.

While 71,668 passengers left through Al-Wadiah land port, 8,177 passengers left through Shahn port, 2,982 passengers left through Sarfait port, and 89 passengers left through Mukalla port.

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior confirmed that the total number of arrivals and departures through our country's land, sea and air ports reached 164,119 passengers during the first half of October.
