Ibb: Yemen Youth Net - Special
Two people died in two separate incidents, a house collapsed, and 173 displaced families were affected by the rains and floods that have been hitting Ibb Governorate (central Yemen) for several days.
Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the torrents of rain in Wadi Bana in As-Saddah District (northeast of Ibb) swept away an elderly man named (Lutf Ali Murshid Al-Mawlid) yesterday, Saturday, and he was found dead some distance from where he drowned.
In Jablah District (southwest), a young man named (Jawas Sadiq Al-Barihi) died as a result of his injuries when the roof of his room collapsed on him as a result of the rain in the village of “Al-Mansoura.”
In addition, local residents reported that the house of a citizen from the Al-Haddad family in the Al-Madbagha neighborhood in the city of Jableh is the fifth in several days, amid fears of the collapse of other houses, especially those of an old and archaeological nature.
173 families affected
In addition, the Red Crescent Society in Ibb Governorate announced that 173 families, most of whom are displaced, were affected by the rains and floods resulting from them in the city of Ibb and its surroundings, according to a preliminary statistic.
She added that the damage affected the displaced people in the camps of "Al-Tarqat, Dar Al-Sharq and Jableh", in addition to some homes overlooking the Jableh stream.
She indicated that she provided food and shelter supplies to the affected families, and is continuing the survey to assess the damage.
Informed sources revealed to "Yemeni Youth Net" that dozens of homes (plastic tents and kiosks) of citizens in Jablah Valley were damaged as a result of the torrential rains that hit the governorate in the past few days.
Victims complained about the lack of intervention by the relevant militia authorities, organizations and associations.
Ibb Governorate has been witnessing a rainy wave for days, which has caused human losses, damage to the road network and agricultural lands, and the collapse of a number of houses in several directorates.
