Meeting of the Executive Office in Ma’rib Governorate
In its regular meeting, Monday, the Executive Office of Ma’rib Governorate discussed a number of issues and topics relevant to citizens, most notably preparations for the new academic year and efforts to establish a cancer hospital in the governorate.
In the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of Ma’rib Governorate, Dr. Abd Rabbuh Muftah, and Abdullah Al-Bakri, the Director of the Health Office, Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, was briefed on the efforts made to establish a cancer hospital in the governorate.
According to Saba Agency, the necessary procedures were discussed regarding arrangements for the official receipt of the hospital building donated by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Baqama, and the search for funding to furnish and equip it with the necessary equipment.
The meeting addressed the preparations for the start of the new academic year, its urgent needs to create an attractive educational environment, improve the quality of education, and discuss performance reports for a number of executive office branches in the governorate.
The meeting recommended holding an expanded meeting that includes the local authority, the commercial and financial sector in the governorate, and the education cluster, which includes international, regional, and local organizations and education sector partners.
The meeting aimed to involve everyone in mobilizing support and funding to meet the needs of the education sector in the governorate before the start of the new academic year in light of the decline in humanitarian interventions and support by UN and international organizations.
The meeting also discussed the status of education in public and private schools, its quality, the negatives that accompanied the educational process during the past years in particular, and how to overcome them.
He reviewed the most urgent needs for the educational process, preventing teachers and students from dropping out of schools, and providing school supplies, including books, classrooms, chairs, teaching aids, and incentives for teachers.
The meeting stressed the need to create an attractive and encouraging environment for students and teachers. To continue the journey of education, in addition to discussing their role in the success of the back-to-school campaign and parents pushing their children to school.
