Hamas on Wednesday reiterated its readiness to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement based on US President Joe Biden’s declaration on May 31, UN Security Council Resolution 2735, and what was previously agreed upon, without setting any new demands, and rejecting any new conditions from any party.

Hamas announced in a statement that its negotiating delegation, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Minister Abbas Kamel, head of Egyptian General Intelligence, in the Qatari capital, Doha, this morning.

She reiterated the movement's continued positivity and flexibility in order to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of the occupation army from the entire territory of the Gaza Strip, "in a way that achieves the interests of the Palestinian people and paves the way for a prisoner exchange deal, relief for the people of the Strip, the return of the displaced, and reconstruction."

It stressed its rejection of any projects related to the post-cessation of aggression on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the management of the Strip "is an internal Palestinian affair that is agreed upon with an agreed-upon Palestinian vision." It said that it welcomes holding a comprehensive national dialogue with all Palestinian factions and forces to agree on a national vision to confront the repercussions of the current stage and unify the national arena. Hamas welcomed the role of Egypt and Qatar and their efforts in indirect negotiations to stop the aggression on the Palestinian people.

The chances of reaching an agreement to end the war are still far-fetched, given the insistence of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on maintaining control over the axes of the Gaza Strip, and evading previous understandings reached by the mediators.

Bloomberg reported in a report yesterday, Tuesday, that Israel had presented an offer to the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, which included a safe exit from Gaza in exchange for the release of the detainees and relinquishing control over the Strip, according to statements reported by the agency from the person in charge of the file of detainees in Gaza, Gal Hirsch.

"I am prepared to provide safe passage for Sinwar and his family and anyone who wants to join him," Hirsch said in an interview with Bloomberg on Tuesday. "We want the return of the detainees, disarmament and the establishment of a new system for governing Gaza."
