Previous Israeli targeting of Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in northern Gaza

The occupation forces continue to target hospitals in Jabalia camp, north of Gaza, and besiege the wounded in Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Hospital after targeting the displaced people there. Medical sources reported that 48 Palestinians were killed in Israeli raids on various areas in the Gaza Strip since Saturday morning.

Palestinian activist Mahmoud Abu Salama documented on Instagram the presence of a number of wounded people inside the shelter center of Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, confirming the siege of the area by the Israeli occupation forces.

Sources reported that "the occupation targeted displaced Palestinians with bullets from quadcopter aircraft in the shelter center of the "Al-Yaman Al-Saeed" hospital in the Jabalia camp, north of Gaza."

Anadolu Agency quoted its correspondent as saying, "The injured are trapped inside the shelter of the 'Happy Yemen' Hospital, and the Israeli army, which is about 100 meters away, is preventing them from leaving."

After being put out of service due to Israeli attacks, Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Hospital in the Gaza Strip has become a shelter for the displaced, amidst the lack of hygiene and worsening hunger in light of the siege imposed on northern Gaza.

In Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip, the occupation continues to besiege Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Hospital, which houses thousands of camp residents and others from the towns of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia, in the far north of the Strip, west of the camp.

War of extermination since 15 days

Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Maher Shamiya, said that the northern Gaza Strip governorate has been subjected to systematic Israeli genocide for 15 days, which has caused catastrophic conditions there.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Shamiya pointed out that the Israeli army targeted the three remaining hospitals in the northern governorate at dawn on Saturday, adding that they are still partially operating despite this bombing.

He stated that the continued Israeli siege on this governorate has caused a shortage of medicines, medical supplies and fuel needed to operate the equipment inside the three hospitals.

Shamiya renewed his ministry's demand for international institutions concerned with protecting hospitals and civilian facilities and sparing them from Israeli madness.

targeting hospitals

The medical official said that the three remaining hospitals, Kamal Adwan, Indonesian (governmental), and Al-Awda (civilian), were subjected to Israeli bombing at dawn on Saturday. He continued: This bombing has exacerbated the humanitarian situation in the region.

He explained that hospitals continue to operate partially despite these Israeli attacks that directly targeted them.

Regarding Kamal Adwan Hospital, Shamiya said that the army targeted its upper floors with several shells, which caused a complete power outage.

In addition, an Israeli drone targeted the hospital yard, killing a Palestinian and wounding two others, he said.

Shamiya continued, saying: The scene inside this hospital was horrific, as a state of panic and fear prevailed among the patients and medical staff, especially among the 40 patients who were inside the hospital at the time of the attack.

He stated that the hospital's capacity has completely reached its limit, with all departments, including intensive care and the nursery, full.

He pointed out that floor mats were used in the maternity ward, which is undergoing renovation, to receive more injured patients.

As for the attack that targeted Al-Awda Hospital, Shamiya said that this hospital was also directly hit on the upper floors, without clarifying the nature of the targeting.

Speaking about the Indonesian hospital, Shamiya said that the Israeli vehicles that penetrated the area destroyed the (main) generator, which caused a power outage, which in turn led to the death of two patients in the intensive care unit.

He continued: The army also imposed a tight siege on the hospital, which increases the urgent need to evacuate many critical cases.

Shamia stressed, in his speech, that the three hospitals suffer from a severe shortage of medical staff, especially specialists in specialized surgeries, as only a few of them remain to deal with the large numbers of injuries.

He added: Hospitals also suffer from a severe shortage of medicines, medical supplies and fuel needed to operate medical devices.

Shamiya pointed out that his ministry contacted the International Red Cross and international coordinators to convey a clear message demanding that hospitals be spared this Israeli madness. He added: These facilities are civilian and have nothing to do with what is happening on the ground.

Shamiya called on the international community to put pressure to stop targeting hospitals, saying: We need everyone to raise their voices loudly and say enough to this madness, because these hospitals have absolutely nothing to do with what is happening on the ground.
