The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast a new video that included testimonies of prisoners who had been appealing since the beginning of the war to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to release them by making deals with Hamas and ending the war, while the second part of the clip showed these prisoners killed by bombs dropped by Israeli warplanes on the Gaza Strip in unprecedented bombing operations.

In the video clip broadcast by Al Jazeera and titled "He promises them and gives them false hopes, but Satan promises them nothing but delusion," one of the prisoners, named Alon Shamers, appeared saying, "I am very, very hopeful that I will soon be released from here."

Tom Haim, a reserve soldier, said, “To my family... you are my life, I miss you until the end.”

While another said, "Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, you should be ashamed of yourselves."

Another female prisoner appeared in the video addressing Netanyahu, saying, “Stop lying to our citizens and our families that you are doing everything you can so that we can return to our homes.”

An Israeli appeared in the Qassam video crying and appealing to Netanyahu, "Please return my wife and children so that they can be buried at home."

Another prisoner asked Netanyahu to stop the war, saying, "Netanyahu, please stop the war and bring us home."

Another expressed his hope, saying, "I really hope we get the best surprise possible."

After the testimonies were shown, the Qassam video showed the prisoners as lifeless bodies.

At the end of the video, Netanyahu appears saying, “We have been working since the beginning of the war to bring the prisoners back home... to bring them all back... and when I say all of them, I mean all of them.”

The Qassam Brigades concluded the video with the verse from Surat Al-Isra: “He promises them and arouses false hopes in them, but Satan promises them nothing but delusion.”

The Israeli army announced that it had recovered the bodies of 6 of its prisoners who had been held in the Gaza Strip since October 7, in a joint operation with the General Security Service (Shabak).

Hamas is believed to still be holding 115 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, according to Haaretz, though it is not known exactly how many are still alive. Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said in mid-June that no one knows exactly how many prisoners are still alive.

The new Qassam video coincided with successive developments regarding the indirect negotiations between the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and Israel, as Netanyahu continues his evasions to obstruct the deal. Israeli media quoted him as saying that it is not certain that a ceasefire agreement will be reached in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Israeli army will not withdraw from the Philadelphi and Netzarim axes in any way, hours after his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
