For the 20th consecutive day, the Israeli army continues, on Thursday, the intensive air and artillery bombardment and shooting in the northern Gaza Strip, especially the Jabalia camp and the town of Beit Lahia, in scenes that observers say are "genocide" that the world is watching live.

The army continues to tighten its siege on hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the area, preventing the entry of food, water, fuel and medicine, which has exacerbated the catastrophe of famine and thirst, and increased accusations that it is determined to displace citizens, occupy the north and turn it into a buffer zone.

A Palestinian child and his mother were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in the Jabalia camp where they were staying, according to Palestinian paramedics who spoke to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.

A source in the Civil Defense Authority in Gaza told Anadolu Agency, "There are Palestinian wounded in the streets of Beit Lahia and Jabalia camp, as a result of intense gunfire from Israeli artillery and drones, and ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them and evacuate them to hospitals."

The source added that "the Israeli army arrested 3 civil defense workers while they were performing their duties in the Sheikh Zayed area, north of Beit Lahia."

Late Wednesday, the Civil Defense announced that it had completely stopped its work in the northern governorate, after the Israeli army arrested 5 of its members, directly targeted 3 others, and bombed its only firefighting vehicle.

The Civil Defense said in a statement: "Our work has completely stopped in the northern governorate, and the situation has become catastrophic there, and the citizens there are now without humanitarian services."

He explained that "Israeli military vehicles targeted the only fire-fighting vehicle in the northern Gaza Strip with their shells and set it on fire."

Eyewitnesses told the Anadolu Agency correspondent on Thursday that "continuous artillery shelling took place in the Saftawi area and Jabalia camp, amid gunfire from the invading Israeli vehicles."

They added that "the Israeli army continues to blow up, destroy and burn homes and residential areas in Jabalia camp and the Saftawi and Tuwam areas."

The Israeli army is still imposing a complete siege on Kamal Adwan, Al-Awda and Indonesian hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, targeting displaced persons, patients and medical staff when entering or leaving them, according to a medical source for Anadolu.

The source confirmed that "the hospitals in the north are suffering from catastrophic and extremely complex conditions in light of the deliberate Israeli targeting and preventing the entry of fuel, medical supplies, food and water to the wounded, patients and medical staff, with the available supplies inside the hospitals beginning to run out."

The Israeli bombing of various areas in the northern Gaza Strip continues, while the army continues its efforts to empty the area of citizens through forced displacement, according to eyewitnesses.

On October 5, the Israeli army began an unprecedented bombardment of the Jabalia camp and town and large areas in the northern Gaza Strip, and the following day began its invasion of them under the pretext of “preventing Hamas from regaining its strength in the region.”

In the central Gaza Strip, a Palestinian child was killed and others were injured in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted land northeast of the Maghazi camp, according to a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that "the Israeli army launched violent artillery shelling, accompanied by heavy gunfire from vehicles east of the Al-Maghazi and Al-Bureij camps."

They added that "Israeli vehicles advanced in a limited manner east of the Maghazi and Bureij camps, coinciding with the continuous shooting and artillery shelling."

In the city of Rafah (south), the Israeli army launched intensive raids on the Shaboura camp (center) and the Khirbet al-Adas area northeast of the city, according to eyewitnesses to Anadolu Agency.

With American support, Israel has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 143,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Tel Aviv continues this genocide, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end the war immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Israel is also defying a request by the International Criminal Court's Prosecutor Karim Khan to issue arrest warrants for its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant for their responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Tel Aviv has turned the Gaza Strip into the largest prison in the world, besieging it for the 18th year, and the "genocidal" war has forced about two million of its citizens, numbering about 2.3 million Palestinians, to flee in catastrophic conditions.

For decades, Israel has occupied the lands of Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, and rejects the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders before the 1967 war with East Jerusalem as its capital.
