One of the investors in this field told "Yemeni Youth Net" that Sana'a is no longer a safe and suitable environment for survival, and work has greatly weakened from what it was before the Houthi coup, explaining that the militia imposed levies, fees, and repeated visits weekly through the group's representatives and reviewing all invoices, bonds, sales, and all the privacy of the work.

He added: "They review all the company's work, the percentage of profits and purchases, and based on that, fees are imposed that differ from one partner to another according to the work. Even the decor, devices, printing machines and their supplies are taxed in addition to the sales fees."

According to managers of one of the companies, a large advertising company based in Sana’a was forced to open branches in the liberated governorates in an attempt to completely withdraw its work due to the ongoing Houthi extortion and harassment they were subjected to.

The Houthi militia had formed an economic committee in Sana'a whose mission was to track companies and merchants, restrict their trade and movements, and then impose fixed illegal fees on them and go to the field during occasions to collect sums to cover their sectarian activities, amid a wave of discontent from merchants and investors.
