An official report revealed, on Tuesday, that the liberated governorates achieved an increase in revenues of 48% over the specified linkage, during the first half of the current year 2024.
This came in the report submitted by the Ministry of Local Administration to the government meeting, according to what was published by the Saba Agency.
According to the report of the Ministry of Local Administration, "the total amounts collected from local and joint resources amounted to 20 billion, 11 million, and 327 thousand riyals during the first half of this year."
The report explained that "the revenues achieved an increase over the estimated linkage of 6 billion, 476 million, and 699 thousand riyals, with an increase of 48 percent, and an increase over the collection in the first half of last year of 1 billion, 252 million, and 742 thousand riyals, with an increase of 7 percent."
The report pointed to the existing imbalances in the level of collection of local resources, and in this regard the Council affirmed its support for the practical measures necessary to collect shared public resources in accordance with the Local Authority Law.
This comes amid the continued economic deterioration and the decline in the value of the national currency against foreign currencies to historic levels, amid the government’s failure to take measures to limit this unjustified collapse.
