The package price is $40.. These are the contents of the Starlink satellite internet licensing agreement in Yemen

Starlink has officially announced that Yemen has entered its coverage area to provide satellite internet service, and this was also confirmed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Systems in the Yemeni government.

The General Corporation for Wired and Wireless Telecommunications, in the interim capital, Aden, announced earlier this month the start of the official experimental phase of the Starlink service in the liberated governorates, to evaluate the service by a joint technical team from the corporation and Starlink Company to ensure the quality of the high-speed satellite internet service.

The agreement concluded between the government and the company stipulated that the government would receive only five thousand dollars for each year of licensing from Starlink, and the value of its revenues from the license would reach 25 thousand dollars for the five years that represent the duration of the agreement.

According to the agreement documents, “the General Telecommunications Corporation receives $20 from each Starlink device sold in Yemen, and a three-dollar monthly subscription for each Starlink device.”

It also stipulates that the agreement signed between the government and the telecommunications company will be valid for a period of five years, starting on January 1, 2024 and ending on January 1, 2029, and may be extended by agreement between the two parties.

The agreement also includes the monopoly of the Public Telecommunications Corporation on the sale of Starlink devices, and it has the right to determine the number of sellers in the market, provided that it is given its share of sales revenues and monthly subscriptions.

According to the agreement, the price of the open monthly package may reach $40, provided that its speed is excellent, without specifying a specific number for the types of speeds, packages, and their sizes.
