The United Nations has decided to suspend all non-life-saving and non-life-supporting activities in areas controlled by the Houthi militia (north and west of Yemen), in order to reduce the exposure of its employees to danger in those areas, while the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, reiterated the international organization's commitment to supporting the Presidential Council and the legitimate government.

An American report hinted at the possibility that the Houthis are exploiting the huge international humanitarian aid efforts allocated to help Yemenis to support their military budget, considering that the basic problem related to providing aid in Yemen - represented by the lack of transparency and oversight - remains unaddressed.
